Fitness and Movement
Come on out and get fit Farmville! Classes are held Monday – Thursday at the South Street Conference Center. Class cost is $30.00 a month or $4.00 per class. For more information contact the Recreation Department at 434-392-3737. Please view the Fitness Movement Flyer for more details.
Martial Arts Classes
Martial Arts Classes: The Recreation Department offers Martial arts classes to local residents. Classes are held at the South Street Conference Center. Besides being good exercise, students learn discipline, respect, and grow in confidence. Participants occasionally compete in local karate competitions, but this is optional and separate from the Martial Art class format. Ages 18 & up are encouraged to register by March 9th for the Spring 2018 league. All games will be played at the PEFYA Gymnasium. If you would like more information, please view the Adult Basketball Flyer.
Join the spring 2019 co-ed softball league. Registration opens March 22nd with a registration deadline of May 3rd. All games will be played at the Firemen’s Sports Arena. If you would like more information, please view the Adult Softball Flyer.
Day Fishing Trips
The Recreation Department offers fishing opportunities at Wilck’s Lake. Individuals are required to have a State fishing license (a town license is not required). If you would like more information about Farmville’s fishing opportunities please contact the Recreation Department at (434) 392-3737.
What classes would you like to take?
If you would like to take a class that we are not currently offering, let us know so that we may look for an instructor and others who share the same interests. Areas of interest may include sports, arts and crafts, music, drama, fitness, self-improvement, travel and many others of which we are not aware. In planning our future line up of programming, trips, and special events, we appreciate your input. Is there a program, trip or event you would like to see offered by our department?
