There’s a lot to love about Farmville for kids of all ages. Farmville has parks and playgrounds — even a skateboard park at Wilck’s Lake. Four-legged family members have a park, too. For quiet time hear a favorite story at the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library’s story time, or visit the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts for some artistic fun.
Grove Street Park — If you’re looking for a shady spot to read or relax this is the place. It’s located at the corner of Grove and Buffalo streets; there’s playground equipment and picnic tables available for a snack or picnic.
Wilck’s Lake Park — Enjoy a lakeside breeze and the scenic view while your youngsters explore the play area; there’s also a picnic area, boat ramp and fishing (Virginia fishing license required). For information, call (434) 392-3333.

Dogwood Trail — Take the kids for a stroll along the half-mile paved walking trail that winds through the woods between the lower parking lot of Centra Southside Community Hospital and High Street.
