The Town of Farmville Parks and Recreation Department offers many outdoor recreational opportunities such as Grove Street Park with various play areas for children and an inclusive wheelchair swing set. Other parks include Wilck's Lake (which offers fishing opportunities, the Sarah Terry Walking trail, a skatepark nearby and a playground donated by the Lion's Club), Riverside Park (which is used for concerts and festivals by the Appomattox River), and other unique locations. Looking to bike, run, walk or take in scenic views on horseback? Check out High Bridge Trail State Park for 31 miles of trail that runs right through downtown Farmville.
The Town of Farmville Parks and Recreation Department also currently offers indoor recreation as well. Our focus is not only leisure and physical wellness, but mental enrichment as well. With programs such as karate and yoga, participants can practice exercises for both the body and mind. Please click here to learn more about each program!
