Biography

Sallie Amos was elected to Farmville Town Council in May 2020 and began serving her first term on July 1, 2020. Amos, a lifelong resident of the Town of Farmville, is a graduate of Longwood College with a B.S. Degree in Social Work. She retired on May 1, 2020, from the Virginia Department of Corrections as a Deputy Chief Probation Officer with over 28 years of service. Amos currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Prince Edward Volunteer Rescue Squad, as well as the Virginia Municipal League’s committee on Human Development and Education Policy. Amos accepted an appointment from Governor Glenn Youngkin and Secretary of the Commonwealth Kay Coles James, to serve on the Advisory Committee for Juvenile Justice and Prevention for a four-year term beginning July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2027.

Amos and her husband, Eddie, have a daughter, Mary Grace.
