Wilck's Lake Park

This area is free to all residents and visitors.

Picnic tables are available on a first come first serve basic.

Wilck's Lake Park Play Area

Wilck's Lake Play Area is located at Wilck's Lake right on West Third Street. There is a large piece of playground equipment that contains many things that kids find interesting. This park is located next to an empty field that is also part of Wilck's Lake. The Farmville Prince Edward Youth Association uses this field for soccer games. You can make use of this field for pick-up soccer, kick-ball or waffle-ball games, or any other fun games you can think up. There are picnic tables so pack a snack or lunch. There are two portable restrooms available.

Wilck's Lake Play Area is open year round from dawn to dusk and is designed for children 10 and under.

Sarah Terry Walking Trail
The Sarah Terry Walking Trail encompasses the entire area of Wilck's Lake.  The walking trail begins at the Wilck's Lake boat ramp parking lot near the Skateboard Park, then continues onto the sidewalk on West Third at Little Feats Daycare, ending back at the boat ramp parking lot.  The total length of the trail is 1.6 miles.

Fishing is open to the public with a Town of Farmville Fishing Permit and a valid Virginia Fishing License (contact the Virginia Game & Inland Fisheries Department).

Town of Farmville Fishing Permits are available at the Town Treasurer Office located at 116 N. Main Street and are valid for a year from the date issued.

Town Fishing Permit Cost:

• In-town residents- $7.50
• Out of town residents- $15.00
• Individuals over the age of 65 years old, handicap individuals and individuals under the age of 16 accompanied with a licensed person- free (permit is required and can be obtain at Treasurer's Office)
