The Town of Farmville offers two (2) cleanup campaigns a year during the months of October and April, for items not approved for normal garbage collection. Scheduled dates will be advertised on the website, local newpaper, local radio stations and local channel 2.
The cleanup campaign provides pickup of items not approved for normal pick up such as; furniture, appliances, carpet, bedding, and building materials. All loose items, to be collected, must be containers that can be thrown away. Example- if you put small appliances in an old garbage can, the can will be thrown away with the appliances.
Brush and recyclables should be separate from other items such as bags, metal, furniture, etc. Motor oil must be used, with a cap on the container and labeled "Motor Oil". Vehicle batteries will not be collected by the Town during this campaign.
Residents are asked to have all items at the curbside by 8:00 a.m. on the assigned campaign date.
All items collected during the clean-up campaign become the property of the Town of Farmville, who is therefore responsible for its proper disposal.
