CHIEF OF POLICE -
The Town of Farmville is accepting applications for the position of Chief of Police. The Town seeks an experienced, progressive and energetic law enforcement executive. This university community of approximately 8,200 has a Police Department with 26 sworn Officers and 2 civilian positions and a department budget of $2,045,197. The position will function as a member of the management team reporting to the Town Manager in a Council-Manager form of government. The successful candidate must relocate to the Town of Farmville within one year of employment.
Acceptable Experience and Training: Ten years of experience in modern police work with progressive experience in a variety of police functions including major command responsibilities, supplemented by formal training in police administration and scientific methods of crime detection. Bachelor's degree in a job related field is required. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
Compensation: Hiring range is $83,200 - $90,000, depending on qualifications. The Town offers a competitive benefits package.
