The Recreation Department plans, coordinates, and oversees activities for all ages. The Recreation Department host activities for youth, teens, adults and seniors in the Town of Farmville and surrounding areas. The Recreation Department offers programs in the areas of arts, sports, fitness, outdoor recreation and special events. The Recreation Department also oversees the Recreation Scholarship Fund, a fund created to help ensure individuals are not turned away from recreational programs because of their inability to pay.
Current Recreational Programs and Updates:
Summer Day Camps 2014: The Farmville Recreation Department will once again be offering summer day camps for children ages 5 to 14. The first camp will start June 2nd. The camps will run through the first week in August. Camps run four days a week (Monday - Thursday) the time will be 9 am to 4 pm. Cost is $75 per camp week, 25% price reduction for each additional child within the family. Before and after care will be provided from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm for an additional $20 per camp week. Youth Football & Cheerleading: The Farmville Recreation Department will be sponsoring Youth Football and Cheerleading for ages 5-12. The cost of the program is $45 per child and $40 for each additional child. Registration begins June 9, 2014 and ends August 1, 2014. Practice will begin on July 28, 2014. Fitness & Movement Programs: The Farmville Recreation Department is offering Fitness and Movement Programs starting January 7th. Classes will be held Monday - Friday at the South Street Conference Center come on out and "Get Moving"! The cost of the class is $25.00 a month or $3.00 per class. Youth Martial Arts Classes: The Recreation Department is offering Martial Arts classes to local area youth ages 8 and up. Classes are held at the South Street Conference Center.
