Band playing at eventDo you love art? Take a walk down Farmville’s Main Street and you’ll find it. Stroll by Longwood’s Center for the Visual Arts and enjoy the display windows, or take in an exhibit and or sign up for a workshop. On either side of LCVA, there’s Red Door 104 offering paint parties and art classes and Mainly Clay with pottery classes and pottery items for sale.

Longwood Center for the Visual Arts — art on display seven days a week along with workshops, children’s programs, and special events; in the heart of town on the corner of Main and Third streets; call 434-395-2206 for more information.

LCVA Guided Tours — did you know the LCVA offers guided tours of their galleries as well as the galleries on campus? Call 434-395-2941 or email LCVA Guided Tours. All tours are free.

Downtown Murals — take in the Warehouse Triptych Mural by Longwood graduate Monty Montgomery next to the Farmer’s Market on North Street.

Art at the Riverside Café — enjoy local art with breakfast or lunch as you peruse the rotating exhibits by members of Central Virginia Arts; Series located at 522 N. Main Street, hours are 7 a.m to 3:30 p.m.

Stars Under the Stars Outdoor Film Series — take in a free outdoor movie on the Crute State second Fridays in June, July, and August; bring a blanket or lawn chair; popcorn, candy, and drinks are for sale.
