Welcome to the official local government website for the Town of Farmville, Virginia! Centered in Virginia's Heartland, we are the hub of economic activity in the region and boast a wealth of natural, historical, cultural, recreational and educational attractions. You can also find an abundance of specialty shops that carry unique items.
Before Appomattox, there was Farmville. Still reeling from the Battle of Sailors Creek, General Robert E. Lee and his men in gray moved westward to this town in the Heart of Virginia to be ready for the last stand against the forces of General Ulysses S. Grant. Click here for more information.
Over 200 volunteers are needed for this event - tour guides, interperters, ambassadors- whatever your skill set, we have a place for you!
