Build Communities Through Play Contest- The Farmville Area Kiwanis needs your help to win playground equipment that will be donated to the Town of Farmville Recreation Department for community use.

Upcoming Event:

Farmville's annual 4th of July - Fireworks After Dark celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd, at 6:30 p.m., at the Farmville Regional Airport. Music will be provided by Soul Expressions Band and special guest, ABC Duets contestant and music artist, Bridget Carrington. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy a relaxing evening of good music, food and fun at the annual First Fridays events. First Fridays are held at the Riverside Park and are hosted by the Farmville Jaycees. Click here for dates and more information.

The Summer Outdoor Film Series- 2013 Stars Under the Stars will begin on Friday, June 14th, with the classic movie - Viva Las Vegas (1964).  Bring your chair, blanket and friends to the Crute Stage to enjoy a classic movie under the stars. Crute Stage is located at 100 N. Main Street.

 INFORMATION AND UPDATES:

• The regular scheduled Planning Commission Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2013 Noon, in the Town Manager's Conference Room has been canceled.
  
  
• In observance of Memorial Day, the Town of Farmville Town Offices, Police Administration Offices, Public Works Department and Farmville Area Bus (FAB) Administration Offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013.  Offices will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 28th.
  
  
• The regular Town Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chamber on the second floor of the Farmville Town Hall, at 116 North Main Street, Farmville, Virginia. Town Council members gather for dinner in the Town Manager's Conference Room at 5:30 p.m., prior to each regularly scheduled Council meeting.   Regular Council Work Sessions are held the first Wednesday of each month in the Town Manager's Conference Room, on the first floor of the Farmville Town Hall, at 116 N. Main Street, Farmville, Virginia, at 11:00 a.m., unless otherwise scheduled.
